Walk of the Month: Malham Landscape Trail
We like to help you explore the area whilst you’re staying with us. For those of you that can get out on foot, we hope our monthly walks help give you a little inspiration whether you visit us weekly, monthly or just once a year.
For September venture into the stunning Yorkshire Dales national park for a wander around the Malham Landscape Trail. You can choose to do the full circular route, or just pick two of the shorter routes to take in Janet’s Foss, or the Cove.
Where to wander this month: Malham Landscape Trail
This circular route takes in the famous sights of Janet’s Foss, Gordale Scar, and Malham Cove.
The details:
Distance: 4.5 miles (7.2km)
Approx. Time: 3 hours approx.
Terrain: fields, tracks, stone paths/steps, woodland areas, limestone pavement, roads
Important info: Remember to follow the countryside code and to prepare for all weather conditions.
There are toilet facilities in the car park, and there a couple of different places to eat in Malham, along with picnic areas.
The route:
The route starts and ends at the Yorkshire Dales visitor centre car park. It is a 40 minute drive to the start of the walk from Riverside.
