Walk of the Month: Silverdale and the Pepperpot

We like to help you explore the area whilst you’re staying with us. For those of you that can get out on foot, we hope our monthly walks help give you a little inspiration whether you visit us weekly, monthly or just once a year.

For April we are recommending ‘a rewarding ramble through the coastal limestone woodlands around Silverdale, visiting the lofty perch of the ‘Pepperpot’ and continuing to Jenny Brown’s Point’.

Where to wander this month:  Silverdale. 

This moderate circular walk explores the coastal limestone woods in the Arnside & Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Pepperpot viewpoint, and the coastline to Jenny Brown’s point.

The details:

Distance:  5.7 miles

Approx. Time: Approx. 3 hours

Terrain: Occasionally uneven paths with some stiles.

Important info: 

Dogs should be kept under close control, ideally on a lead. Please make sure to follow the countryside code.

The route:

It will take you around 40 minutes to drive to the start of this walk from our park. Limited parking is available at the Eaves Wood National trust car park. Toilets are available on Bank House Lane, and refreshments can be found at Silverdale Hotel or the Wolf House Gallery.
